Giant Fortnum & Mason Beehive Lands at St. Pancras International
This summer, discover Fortnum & Mason’s giant beehive at St. Pancras International, an immersive installation created to celebrate 100 years of Disney Winnie the Pooh. Visitors are invited to step inside and discover a celebration of bees and biodiversity.
Bringing storytelling, sustainability and summer spectacle to the St. Pancras station arcade
We’ve unveiled a striking new centrepiece for our summer sustainability programme – a giant beehive installation created by Fortnum & Mason to celebrate 100 years of Disney Winnie the Pooh. The 8.4-metre-tall installation will be in place from 14th July to 30th August, giving everyone travelling through or visiting the station a chance to step inside and explore it for themselves.
A closer look at the beehive
Inspired by the working beehives on our station roof, the installation brings together Fortnum & Mason’s beekeeping heritage, Disney Winnie the Pooh’s love of honey, and London St. Pancras Highspeed’s ongoing commitment to urban biodiversity.
The Eau de Nil beehive features:
- A sculptural honeycomb design
- Six hand-crafted golden bees created by artist Paul Badham
- A design inspired by both Fortnum & Mason’s heritage and our rooftop hives
Set in the heart of the station arcade, it becomes a focal point for the millions of people passing through St. Pancras International each week.
Inside the beehive
Step inside the installation and explore the honeycomb interior that recreates the feeling of being within a working hive.
Inside, you’ll find:
- An illuminated honeycomb environment
- Ambient natural soundscapes and gentle bee-inspired audio
- Seating areas designed as a calm space within the station
As you move through the space, enjoy the immersive storytelling marking the 100th anniversary of Disney Winnie the Pooh, connecting the world of the 100 Aker Wood with the real-world importance of bees and biodiversity.
Through this journey, you can discover:
- The importance of bee health and pollinators
- The role bees play in urban ecosystems
- Our own rooftop beehives and wider biodiversity work along the high-speed rail route
- Fortnum & Mason’s long-standing honey heritage
The giant beehive connects a much-loved story with the natural world, turning a busy station moment into something curious and unexpected.
Limited-edition Disney Winnie the Pooh collection at Fortnum & Mason
The installation also marks the launch of a new limited-edition collection from Fortnum & Mason, available from 16th July, including the world’s first 100 Aker Wood Hunny and a Winnie the Pooh Hunny Pot Hamper. Only available in Fortnum & Mason stores, such as within St. Pancras International, and online.
A summer moment at St. Pancras International
This beehive sits at the centre of our sustainable summer programme, which celebrates important ecosystems and pollinator biodiversity across the station and our high-speed rail line, including peatland environments throughout Kent and community beehives along our route to the Channel Tunnel.
Whether you’re travelling through, arriving, meeting someone, shopping or dining, we invite you to step inside the hive and take a moment to pause, learn and enjoy something unexpected in the station.
