Calum Scott marked the release of his official duet and new version of ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)’ with Whitney Houston with a special performance at London St. Pancras International station.
The stunning new duet, recorded with the endorsement of the Houston estate, is out now and also features on Calum’s forthcoming album Avenoir, out October 10th. To celebrate, the multi-platinum singer-songwriter performed on the station’s state-of-the-art Kawai piano, delighting travellers and commuters with an impromptu piano performance.
Calum brought his powerful vocals to one of London’s busiest stations through his performance of his hit songs Roots, Where Are You Now, You Are The Reason and a medley of Dancing On My Own and the newly released I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) duet with Whitney Houston.
With his soul-baring songwriting, Calum creates the kind of deeply resonant songs that are primed to accompany the most meaningful moments in our lives. From weddings to end-of-life rituals, fans have turned to his music to soundtrack major life events and for solace in times of heartbreak and loss.
To date, Calum’s music has amassed over 10 billion streams worldwide. Calum will soon embark on “The Avenoir Tour” – a massive headline run set to bring his phenomenal live show to 24 cities across the UK and Europe, including a show at London’s OVO Wembley Arena on Friday 21st November.
The performance follows in the footsteps of GRAMMY® award winners Alicia Keys and Nora Jones, Jeff Goldblum, and dynamic duo Rod Stewart and Jools Holland. Other world-class performers to have graced the famous St. Pancras pianos include Elton John, John Legend, Tom Odell, and James Arthur.
Calum Scott said: “It was such a special moment to perform at St. Pancras International and be part of the longstanding legacy of public performances. To celebrate the release of my duet with Whitney Houston in such an iconic London location felt really emotional. Her voice has inspired me for so long, and sharing this new version of ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ in this way was truly unforgettable. I loved being able to bring music to people’s everyday journeys and can’t wait to share Avenoir with everyone very soon.”
Peter Martin-Jones, Head of Marketing at London St. Pancras Highspeed: “Our public pianos have become a stage for extraordinary talent and unforgettable moments, and Calum’s visit was no exception.
