FAQs

How far in advance can I book my train tickets?

Most train tickets are released up to 12 weeks in advance. For Eurostar services between London and France, Belgium and The Netherlands, tickets are available between 6 to 8 months in advance and booking ahead often offers better value.

Can I use an Oyster card or contactless for high-speed train travel?

An Oyster card, issued by TfL, is only valid between St. Pancras International and Stratford International (highspeed rates apply). For other journeys, including international travel, please purchase your ticket in advance.

Do I need to arrive early for my train?

For Eurostar services to and from St. Pancras International, please arrive 90 minutes before departure to allow time for security and border checks. For UK high-speed services or standard trains, arriving 10–15 minutes early is recommended.

Can I collect my Trainline tickets at St. Pancras International?

Yes. Paper Trainline tickets can be collected from station ticket machines. We recommend choosing a digital e-ticket which can be scanned via the Trainline app.
