HS1 and NRHS Research, Development and Innovation Showcase

We were delighted to co-host HS1 and NRHS’s first Research, Development and Innovation Showcase, joined by the DfT, ORR and Network Rail. The event was a timely reminder of the importance of an R&D fund in delivering efficiency and growth, as HS1 heads into a new control period.

In the next five-year period, HS1 is aiming to increase research and development investment from £2.6m to £4m, including the introduction of cutting-edge AI-assisted Autonomous Infrastructure Monitoring system, to continue our leadership in advancing technology and improving asset knowledge. 

This showcase was a crucial step in putting R&D and the change challenge required at the centre of our culture to achieve on our mission of enabling targeted investment to deliver efficiency and growth across our stations and infrastructure.
